I was recently awarded the Carol Crow Memorial Fellowship and in turn a solo exhibition at Houston Center for Photography, which opens Friday May 6 and will be on view until June 19. I invite anyone in the area to attend the opening - more info here.
The exhibition contains a selection of new work from my latest project, Grays the Mountains Sends, an ongoing series inspired by the poetry of Richard Hugo that explores the lives of working people residing in small mountain towns and mining communities in the American West. (pictured above)
For the majority of you who can’t make it to Houston and see the prints (which are way better than jpgs!), photos from the exhibition are viewable exclusively on the Houston Center for Photography website.
The remainder of the project will make its debut early next year.
Eugh this series is pain in the ass good. Some seriously inspiring portraits in there. And you can view the exhibition… ONLINE?! Scary and excellent at the same time.
I can’t wait till I get this final few weeks of uni out the way so I can go and partake in some serious photography.
really, really good.
I went to this shit and it was dope! Don’t miss it because you were too stupid to find your way there.
