Working for a long time trying to make photographs with interesting context that mean something, sometimes sacrificing certain aesthetic niceties, but eventually possibly, hopefully getting some varying levels of acclaim and recognition in the fine art community. Then eventually (if you’re lucky) developing a lasting reputation for certain bodies of work.
VS
Making immediately good looking photographs of hot babes, hipster paraphernalia and cool bands, therefore ensuring everyone thinks you’re the bees knees on the internet for fifteen minutes, then having to keep doing that every day exhaustingly to maintain hype levels. Perhaps one day shooting the right person, quickly sky rocketing you to a dizzy level that few can maintain.
Both hard, both arguably equally respectable, both almost impossible to be in between.
It’s a fickle, fickle industry.
