I’ve got a day off the Canterbury tour to catch up on editing and scanning. It certainly doesn’t feel like a day off. Here’s a self portrait I got in when shooting some new press shots for the band in Brighton
I’m currently in the middle of writing my dissertation on aftermath photography, and have been watching ‘Reflections of ground zero’, a documentary following Joel Meyerowitz as he photographs ‘the pile’ shortly after the collapse of the twin towers.
It’s a fascinating documentary. At one point a woman talks about how a book of Meyerowitz’s photographs will be a physical substitute for the body of her husband that was never recovered from the wreckage. What a profound testament to the power of photography.
The other two parts are available on youtube. The original photographs are available to view here.

I took a couple of self portraits in the flat to finish off a roll of film from Latvia.
